The neighborhood is also home to the 24-acre Denver Botanic Gardens, a draw for nearby families as well as visitors from across the region.

The Park itself is bordered on three sides by luxury homes including historic Victorian designs alongside more modern structures. History 

The rich – and sometimes spooky – history of Cheesman Park lends to its reputation as an iconic Denver locale. The park and botanic gardens were once the home to Mount Prospect Cemetery, founded in 1858. Although the land was repurposed in 1890 and its 5,000 “residents” were moved elsewhere, tall tales of hauntings continue to ignite the Denver imagination.

Overall, Cheesman Park’s schools rank highly on national standards. Part of Denver County 1 School District, nearby Morey Middle School and East High School have both been recognized for their quality student services. The neighborhood is also served by public PreK-8th school Dora Moore Ece and Bromwell Elementary School.
