And of course, the most prominent neighborhood landmark is the Colorado State Capitol building with its adjoining Civic Center Park, host to festivals and events throughout the year.

Capitol Hill is particularly well-known for its great breakfast and brunch options including Jelly, Sassafrass American Eatery, and the Corner Beet, as well as Pablo’s Coffee and Drip Denver. For lunch, head to Sub Culture or Benny Blancos for sandwiches or a New York slice.

Living in Capitol Hill offers a dynamic urban lifestyle, the average home price in Capitol Hill is quite a bit lower than some of the neighboring areas. It offers a range of housing options from apartments to historic homes in Victorian and Queen-Anne styles.
History
Once the neighborhood of Denver’s wealthiest residents – including the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown whose home is now a museum in her honor – it was known in the late 1800’s as “Millionaire’s Row.” Construction on the Capitol began in 1886, and the Hill has remained central to Denver’s cultural and political life ever since.
Education
The Capitol Hill neighborhood is part of the Denver Public School system and has several elementary schools, including Dora Moore School and Bromwell Elementary, in addition to a middle school and high school. East High School adjacent to the Capitol, is a well-known historic high school recognized for its academic achievements.
